Launched in 2021 by Trustees Executors to commemorate 140 years in business
The Trustees Executors Charitable Foundation was established in 2021 to encourage philanthropy in New Zealand and to provide an easy way for Kiwis to realise their charitable vision without the costs and compliance needs of setting up their own charitable trust.
Moving forward and giving back
Launched by Trustees Executors to commemorate 140 years of proud and successful history in New Zealand, the Foundation will serve as a vehicle for likeminded philanthropic people, families and organisations to join together to give back to their communities and leave enduring legacies.
Established in Dunedin in 1881, Trustees Executors is proud to be New Zealand’s longest serving and most experienced Trustee Company. It plays a vital role in working with people to help them grow and protect their assets for a successful future for their families and securing the prosperity of future generations.
Our Foundation will benefit from Trustees Executors' expertise in trusteeship and strategic investment management for charitable entities.
We are bound by Kaitiakitanga. Our donors entrust us with their generosity and in turn we are the kaitiaki or guardians (trustees) for protecting (and growing) their gifts for the benefit of future generations.
Our goal is to ensure our community of givers make maximum impact to worthy charities in New Zealand and that those donors who want to focus on specific issues, can create a lasting legacy to causes close to their hearts.
The Foundation operates under a Trust Deed that includes a governance arrangement for an Advisory Board.
The role of the Board is to decide on the distribution of funds from the Foundation's general fund. Given the Foundation’s recent establishment, the Trustee is currently acting in sole capacity with the support from the team at Trustees Executors.
The Trustee expects to make the initial Advisory Board appointment in 2022 which will include appointments independent of Trustees Executors' staff.
